Inoculating loop- for streaking bacteria onto plates, and can be used to pick colonies to start liquid cultures.
Inoculating needle- for making stab cultures
Incubator- for keeping your culture at a specific temperature, usually warmer than room temp.
Autoclave- Is used to steam sterilize things...Media, equipment, biohazard waste.
Laminar flow hood- provides a sterile working environment by controlling airflow, and filtering air in your workspace
Hot plate- Just like it sounds, can be used to heat media, or anything up to boiling.
Top loading balance- used for weighing out reagents for making solutions
Water steam bath- A liquid incubator
Applicator stick- usually used to pick colonies from plates, for starting liquid cultures
Depression slide and simple slide- used for viewing microorganisms under microscope. Depression slide holds more volume as it has a dimple, simple slide is flat.
