Autoclave problem!! how to prevent damping of any object when kept for sterilization in autoclave! Read detail? In one microbiology book, there was given that the last step of autoclave operation is to cool or to dry the hot & dampened objects. But, when we keep surgical cotton, dressing, operation gown etc for sterilization, due to steam these massed get dampen. How to prevent it for happening so? & even if they dampened, how to make it absolutely dry. Help, its urgent.. |

I don't think there is a way without altering the properties of the items you are sterilizing, i.e. it is possible to coat a waterproofing material onto operation gowns so that it will stay dry. However, if you were to do that to the surgical cotton and dressing, it would make them useless for an operation because they were no longer be absorbent.
